What strategies do you adopt to break through the clutter and ensure that people and authorities notice your efforts?
Consultations and meeting are called while formulating policies. Government officials and other prominent personalities are invited to these consultations. Further, our mass campaigns help us to take our work to public and authorities.
How do you ensure visibility?
We have has never adopted branding and advertising in a professional way for fund-raising. Sakhi’s fund-raising activities are mainly on personal contacts. For that we develop social and personal contacts through our activities. We also send our annual report to major decision-makers of the funding agencies
How has your organisation been instrumental in bringing changes at the grass root?
We have been instrumental in bringing about a positive change in women’s life in rural areas. Through our capacity building programmes we have been able to enhance the leadership qualities of elected women representatives of local self governments and impart life skills education to adolescents. We also provide support to women who face violence in their life and are also campaigning to fight against violence on women and girls.
What about celebrity endorsements?
Celebrities can really take your message to the masses. However, no celebrity is directly associated with Sakhi as of now.
