IIPM : One that glitters most is ‘Indian’ gold
India has surpassed 
Italy to officially become the number one producer of gold jewellery in the world. Italy’s relegation to the second spot in global gold jewellery productions was confirmed by Federazione Nazionale Orafi Gioiellieri Fabbricanti Aderente a Confindustria or Federorafi , (the federation of Italian jewellers). The data released by GFMS Ltd., the precious metal consultancy clearly shows that with 539 tonne of gold jewellery produced in FY2005, India has notched the top spot. Italy managed just 228 tonne during the same interval, while China with 198 tonne and Turkey with 197 tonne bagged the third and fourth spots respectively....
