With that, many thought that the domestic conflict in the BJP had come to an end. And then, as an anti-climax, the Nanavati Commission Report on the 1984 massacre of Sikhs in Delhi was tabled in Parliament. But the BJP was caught on the wrong foot when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh “quixotically” went and apologised on behalf of the Congress party and forced the resignation of Jagadish Tytler. Advani also recently initiated disciplinary proceedings against a known Vajpayee supporter, Madan Lal Khurana, who had suddenly decided to throw his hat into the ring by demanding Advani’s resignation.
